It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday!
Many people will spend this weekend with the mothers in their life. My wife and I will be going to the Royal Botanical Gardens with her mom before getting lunch at a restaurant.
Do you have any plans? Anything fun?
For the mothers, what do you want for Mother’s Day?
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – New Halton Police station coming to Hornby
Construction is underway at the corner of Steeles and Sixth Line in Hornby as the Halton Police will be getting a brand new police station. This one is expected to replace the current one that’s located right next to the Milton Mall. This new police station will be ready by 2026, and will serve both Milton and Halton Hills.
Daily WTF – Brazen burglars steal $250k in cash by cutting hole into the roof of Onyx strip club
A police investigation is underway in Atlanta after roughly $250,000 was stolen from a strip club. Thing is, how the thieves pulled this off is like something out of a movie. Reports say the heist was done by cutting a circular hole in the roof of the club. They then climbed in, used power tools to cut into the safe, climbed out, and ran off with the money. It’s all caught on camera and the police say the heist took about two hours to pull off. No leads have been reported, but it’s safe to say these guys have so far pulled off the impossible… MISSION IMPOSSIBLE.

Utah releases 20 finalists for team name, unveils fan vote
It’s been quite the busy few days for hockey. The NHL Playoffs are ongoing, the Toronto Maple Leafs fired their head coach Sheldon Keefe, and Utah has announced 20 potential team names for the incoming franchise. If you don’t know, the Arizona Coyotes will be moving to Utah this summer. The franchise will undergo a name change, and fans in Utah will be able to choose their favourite option. The list has some interesting options:
- Black Diamonds
- Blast
- Blizzard
- Canyons
- Caribou
- Freeze
- Frost
- Fury
- Glaciers
- Hive
- Ice
- Mammoth
- Mountaineers
- Outlaws
- Powder
- Squall
- Swarm
- Utah HC
- Venom
- Yeti
I personally like the simple ones like Blast and Fury. I also have a soft spot for Powder, just because I think that’s a funny name. Which one would you choose? Let me know!
GOOD NEWS – Students Save A Detroit High School Teacher’s Life After Heart Attack
It’s always good to know CPR, no matter what age you are! Two high school students in Detroit were able to save their gym teacher’s life after he went into cardiac arrest. He was reportedly feeling a little off before he collapsed to the school’s gym floor. Israel DuBose and Correy Coleman immediately jumped to save the man’s life. The girls performed CPR and even used AED pads to shock the teacher back to life. Paramedics eventually came to help and the man was conscious enough to thank the girls for helping. The teacher was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery… And that is some good news!
Hailey Bieber pregnant, expecting 1st baby with Justin Bieber
Congratulations to the Biebers! Our neighbours in Puslinch are about to add one more part-time resident as Hailey and Justin Bieber have announced a pregnancy! The two have been married since 2018. Many consider the marriage to be the big thing that helped calm Bieber down in terms of his partying behaviour. Now the 30-year-old will be a dad! Good for him, and here’s hoping everything goes smoothly!
Ontario ranked the angriest province in Canada
Are you an angry person? According to a recent survey, you might be a bit more angry than other Canadians. Ontario was ranked as the angriest province in Canada in the latest “rage index.” 62% of Ontarians consider themselves either angry or annoyed. This is in relation to a number of topics, including the economy, the federal government, and the media. Atlantic Canada were all grouped together and placed second, while Alberta and BC tied for third. Just think – this survey was done BEFORE the Leafs were eliminated in the playoffs… Just think about how high Ontario’s score would be now! I’m sure Boston would find a way to beat us, but still!
You stop being cool at THIS age
How cool are you? Well, according to a recent study, it might depend on your age. 49% of respondents in this survey felt they were “out of touch,” saying they didn’t understand stuff like TikTok or the hype around Taylor Swift. They also determined that you stop being cool roughly at the age of 39. That’s when the wave of uncool hit people on average. The biggest trends that people had a hard time tracking as they got older were slang terms and knowledge of celebrities. So, if you don’t know what “skibidi” means or if you don’t know who Ice Spice could possibly be, then I hate to break it to you, but you’re officially uncool.
