The public is invited to the Milton Public Library’s (MPL) Beaty branch for the reopening of their Medicine Garden!
To celebrate the reopening, the MPL is holding a day of activities on Saturday, May 11th, including:
- 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Garden Volunteers – Cleaning up and re-opening the Healing and Medicine Garden. Details here
- 12:15 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Opening Ceremony – Unveiling of new garden signage by MP, Adam van Koeverden
- 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Storytime with Nancy Cooper – “Biindigen! Amik Says Welcome” – a story walk in the garden. Drop-in
- 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Scavenger Hunt – For kids outside in the garden
- 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Drum music performance by Aqua in the garden – Drop-in
- 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Beaty Birdhouse Bonanza – Details here
- 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Bee Gardening at the Beaty beehives – Registered program

You’re asked to dress for the weather, wear boots appropriate for work in the garden, and wear a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellant. Keep an eye out for ticks, as they have been found in the garden in the past. You may also wish to bring your own chair to take breaks, as seating in the garden is limited.
