The 2024 Asphalt Overlay program has kicked off here in Milton.
The Town of Milton says their contactor, Associated Paving & Materials Ltd., will be resurfacing roads around town. This work will include partial or full asphalt removal, asphalt paving, localized curb and sidewalk replacement, asphalt sealing and reinstatement of pavement markings, where present.
Residents are advised that construction will commence after construction signage is in place. Time required to complete the work will vary depending on the length of the road.
The following is the standard sequence of the work:
- Construction signage-traffic control
- Concrete curb and sidewalk removal (isolated locations)
- Concrete restoration work (localized areas)
- Asphalt milling
- Base asphalt (when applicable)
- Asphalt testing -waiting period for results
- Maintenance hole adjustment
- Asphalt base repairs
- Surface asphalt
- Asphalt testing -waiting period for results
- Line Painting
- Sewer cleaning
- Sod final restoration localized areas (only section disturbed due to concrete work)
The Town asks residents to be patient, and plan ahead.
You will be notified ahead of time if access to your driveway will be restricted.
Expect an increase of mud and dust in any areas where work is being done.
There are no expectations of mail delivery being affected by the work planned for this summer.
You can follow along with construction using the road closure and construction map.
