An Oakville man turned $1 into $100,000!
Velmurugu ‘Sun’ Suntharalingam matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the Friday, April 12th LOTTO MAX draw.
Sun is thrilled about his first big win.
“I stopped for gas and decided to check my ticket,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I used the self-scanner and didn’t believe it when I saw ‘Big Winner’. I gave my ticket to the store clerk and when the lottery terminal shut down, I realized it was true – I actually won.”
The retiree says he could barely speak as he called his family. He told them to come to the store so he could explain what was happening.
“I was so happy and excited to see a big win,” he said with a big smile. “Having my family around me made it even better.”
Sun plans to share this windfall with his children and will treat himself with a trip to visit his siblings.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Circle K on Speers Road in Oakville.
