The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has charged a personal support worker with assault.
Earlier this month, police were contacted by members of the victim’s family. The victim in this investigation is a youth and the assault’s took place over the past few weeks at the victim’s home while they were in the care of the accused.
On Friday April 19th, 45-year-old Parmjit Kaur Uppal was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Assault (two counts);
- Assault causing Bodily Harm.
Uppal was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The accused, a personal support worker, was an employee of Paramed Home Health Care. Police believe there may be additional victims. They have provided a photograph of the accused, which can be seen at the top of the article.
Investigators are asking anyone with information, or anyone who has been victimized by the accused to contact the HRPS Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4777 ext. 8970.
