When are you the most stressed?
A poll found the most stressful time of the day is 8:15 a.m.! The reasoning came down to a number of issues, including:
- Waking up
- Getting ready
- Dealing with kids
- Commuting
Do you agree?

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – The history behind Milton’s Peregrine Way and Whitney Terrace
Each week, Milton Historical Society President John Challinor provides the origins of select street names around town. This week, we have one of Canada’s earliest official leaders and a man known for his tragic death instead of his achievements. We’ll have two more streets next week!
Daily WTF – Longest duration balancing a lawnmower on the chin (powered)
You have to wonder how these record breakers come up with their ideas… Serial record breaker David Rush is back in the news again, this time he’s balancing a running lawnmower on his chin. Rush held the machine up in the air for nearly ten minutes, earning himself another Guinness World Record. He’s up over more than 250 records broken in his lifetime, and this one has to be up there for the weirdest one yet. You could even say it’s up there balancing on his chin…
Uber Eats provides cannabis stats ahead of 4/20, Milton nearly topping charts
Miltonians seem to enjoy ordering in their weed. This Saturday will be 4/20, which is a big day for the cannabis community. Ahead of the big day, Uber Eats has shared some lists using 2023 data, and Milton is close to the top of the charts. We placed third among Ontario municipalities for ordering cannabis products for delivery, and second behind Mississauga in the GTA. The good news there is that residents are being responsible and putting the keys away. If you’re taking part in 4/20 festivities, consider ordering in and avoid driving. Stay safe!
Daily Did You Know – Ontario government announces more GO train trips through Milton
Premier Doug Ford was in town yesterday to announce that more than 300 additional trips will added to GO services across the province. Just two of those will be added to the Milton line, which includes additional morning and afternoon trips to and from Union. I’ve seen people online say they weren’t fans of the news, saying it’s lacklustre – but at least it’s something! The Ontario Government has pledged to get Milton up to all-day, two-way GO service by 2031… This is a small step towards that.
The Bluey season finale is here and grownups are not OK
Very rarely does a kids show end up catching the attention of adults in a positive way, and that’s what Bluey has done for the last six years. The Australian cartoon recently aired its season finale, and parents online are freaking out because it seemed like the show could be ending. So I looked into it! While I won’t spoil the episode for you, it definitely does tease the show coming to an end. If you’ve been watching the show with your kids the last few years, make sure you have some tissues on hand for yourself… The waterworks will be flowing…
I’m a viral AI influencer made by computers — now I’m going to host a segment on ‘Survivor’
Fans of the Spanish version of the reality game show ‘Survivor’ are getting a brand segment this season. Viral influencer Alba Renai will host this segment, with the catch being that she isn’t a real person. Renai is entirely created through artificial intelligence. She’s being brought in to host ‘Super Secrets with Alba Renai,’ which is described as a “section full of emotions, mysteries and exclusive content that will make you feel as if you were on the island with the contestants.” How does this make you feel? Would you be okay with the American version adding a segment like this – or would you prefer it be hosted by an actual person? Let me know!
Will Smith Makes Surprise Men in Black Appearance at Coachella
Coachella seems to be a strange experience this year. On top of the outrageous drink prices, fans also got to experience some of their favourite artists perform live. For every surprise Ke$ha appearance, you also had Grimes bombing at her first DJ gig. Also making headlines this week is Will Smith, and this time it’s not for slapping someone – yay! He came out dressed in a suit and performed the song from his 1997 hit movie ‘Men in Black’. It seems he’s going around promoting the latest Bad Boys movie, which will be released this summer. How do you feel about Will Smith in 2024? Have you forgiven him for the Oscars slap? Do you even care? Do you even know who Will Smith is? That’d be interesting! Let me know!
Here’s why you want to stress less, exercise more
Researchers have found the key to less stress: exercise! If you find yourself struggling to mentally get through the day, maybe your anxiety is weighing you down, it’s possible you could use a good sweat session. A study diving into heart disease found that people who exercised more had healthier hearts, which is pretty obvious, but they also had lower stress levels in the brain. So, if you’re the kind of person who can’t wait for the weekend despite it only being Tuesday, maybe you need to go for a run… for your brain’s sake.
People are making ‘digital clones’ of themselves to do their work for them
Are you tired of all the Zoom and Microsoft Teams calls? Do you have other things you could be doing at work than just sitting in front of a camera? Why don’t you make a digital clone for yourself! That’s what some people are doing, specifically Holistic health advocate Deepak Chopra. He used data from podcasts, videos, PDFs and other content to develop a clone that can mimic his thoughts and speech. This clone will then sit in online meetings for him. It’ll even wait to for its turn to speak! A company that is creating these for people offers digital clones for as little as $29 and the process can take as little time as one hour. If time is money for you, then surely, your money can buy time. If it means no more online meetings, sign me up!
Wrong couple get divorced after solicitor ‘clicks wrong button’
It’s always good to double check your work, especially if a random couple’s marriage is on the line. Referred to only as Mr. and Mrs. Williams, the couple got divorced without their consent. They were in court following a separation, but were still in the process of splitting their financial obligations when someone at the office pressed the [divorce] button. The reason: the person opened the wrong file! The mistake was realized two days later, and now the couple is in court for another reason… All I’m saying is, take this as a sign…
