The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested a Georgetown man in relation to a pair of break and enter cases.
On Monday March 25th, officers responded to two separate break and enter occurrences in the area of Main Street North and Kennedy Street in Georgetown. Both entries occurred over the preceding weekend while the homeowners were away. The suspect forced entry to both residences taking items of value, debit and credit cards.
As a result of the investigation on Wednesday, March 27th, 38-year-old Christopher Dayfoot of Georgetown has been charged with the following:
- Break and Enter Commit an Indictable Offence (two Counts)
- Fraudulent use of Credit Cards (two Counts)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
- Breach of a Release Order
At the time of the offences, Dayfoot was on two different forms of release stemming from previous criminal charges:
- Man charged with arson in fatal Georgetown house fire
- Halton Police arrest Georgetown man in vehicle from theft case
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
