The Milton Menace continue to struggle in extra minutes against the Leamington Flyers.
In game one of the OJHL second round series, the Flyers were able to pull out the double overtime win in Milton. The Menace then travelled to Leamington for game two, and got a 3-1 win. That brought us to game three in Milton on Tuesday, March 26th.
Leamington opened the scoring in the first period. They were able to take the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
In the second period, the Milton Menace got on the board. Jayden Levesque scored his 2nd of the postseason, assisted by Alexander Siletsky and Markus Hicks. The game was tied 1-1 after 40-minutes of action.
The third period was scoreless, which brought the two teams to overtime. That’s when the Flyers got the game winner, scoring with just 1:13 left on the clock. Leamington beat Milton 2-1 in OT.
Glen Crandall was in net once again for the Menace. He faced 31 shots, stopping 29 of them for a .935% save percentage.
This loss wasn’t without effort from the Menace boys, as they managed to put 52 shots on net against Flyers netminder Sebastian Gatto.
Game four of the series is scheduled for Thursday, March 28th at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre in Leamington. Puck-drop is at 7:10 p.m.
The Menace will then return home on Saturday, March 30th for game five. Depending on how game four goes, Saturday could be an elimination game. Tickets for playoff games in Milton can be found here.
