Get ready to ‘Sing for a Cause’!
Active Results Collaborative (ARC) has announced its latest Sing for a Cause fundraiser, being held to benefit Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) She Can! empowerment programs.
Open to the public, it’s expected to be an evening of fun Karaoke music led by ARC Sing for a Cause singers. The ARC singers will entertain you; but, there will also be an opportunity for others to get up and share their voices too. If you feel like singing some Karaoke, donate $5 minimum for a song. You can also donate to request a song to by sung by one of the ARC Sing for a Cause singers!
“MCRC’s She Can! programs support girls and gender-diverse youth right when they need it the most,” says Executive Director, Becky Andrade. “Significant research demonstrates that girls experience a sharp decline in mental health and confidence as they approach adolescence. Societal pressures and social media teach girls to restrain themselves, and that they are not enough; leading to impacts in overall development and well-being. Through our free core programs, we aim to empower girls and gender-diverse youth to build skills related to critical thinking abilities, coping mechanisms and avenues for self-expression, so they are better able to navigate the world around them. By investing now, She Can! Girls discover who they truly can be and overcome limiting barriers. We are incredibly grateful for the generous support of our community to ensure MCRC can continue to offer these programs barrier free. We can’t wait to sing for this cause with you!”
All proceeds from the ARC Sing for a Cause Karaoke Fundraiser will go directly towards supporting the She Can! programs that are offered by MCRC.
The latest Sing for a Cause fundraiser will be on Wednesday, March 20th from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Ned Devine’s Irish Pub in the Emerald Lounge at 575 Ontario Street South in Milton.
