All the southbound lanes of the 400 remain closed to traffic approaching the 401 due to an early morning collision.
Emergency crews responded shortly after 5 o’clock.
OPP say 3 vehicles were involved in the collision where the ramps to the eastbound and westbound 401 split.
Police say a BMW struck the rear of a box truck at a high rate of speed.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other occupants fled from the scene on foot.
No other injuries have been reported.
The closure is expected to last until at least noon.
