Should couples sleep in separate beds?
That’s a question posed by a recent survey, and it found that 48% of respondents sleep better WITHOUT their partner. That’s nearly half!
82% of the 2000 people who responded said their partner’s sleeping habits wake them up on a nightly basis. This includes snoring (52%), phone scrolling (33%), and getting up to use the washroom (33%).
It’s not time for a “sleep divorce” just yet, as only 21% admitted to sleeping away from their partner full time.
Do you and your partner sleep in the same bed? Would you consider a sleep divorce?
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?

Daily WTF – 10-Foot-Tall Monolith Appears In Wales
Well, it looks like we’re about to get a massive advancement in technology and intelligence… A massive monolith appeared out of nowhere in Wales. It was found by hikers earlier this week, and reopens the conversation on who/what is leaving these behind. Monoliths have been popping up around the world for some time now, and while it’s like just pranksters/artists who really love 2001: A Space Odyssey, it’s also kind of creepy. Mankind is about to head back to the moon in the coming years, will we find one there? We’ll see!
You can now register to one of the many Conservation Halton summer camps
It’s that time of the year! While the kids might be off at camp this week for March Break, you can register them for SUMMER CAMP! Conservation Halton has announced that registration is open for the Way of the Woods day camps this summer. There are 18 unique camps available, with age ranges between four and 15 years old. They’ll be at Kelso, Crawford Lake, Mountsberg, and Area 8 Conservation Area. If you need the kids out of the house this summer, there are definitely worse options! They start July 1st.
Daily Did You Know – These two new Milton Catholic schools need names
Two Catholic schools in Milton are about to officially open up, and they need names. The HCDSB is asking residents to submit their suggestions ahead of the weekend. The best ones will be shortlisted, and then a public vote will happen in the coming months.
Goodwill Listed This Rare Gold Lego Piece for $14.95. It Sold for $18,101
I always say, you never know what you’ll find at thrift stores. A Pennsylvania Goodwill received a rare golden LEGO piece last month. They didn’t know what it was, and so they listed it for just under $15. When the listing went live online, there were offers coming in for $1000… That’s when they did their research. There were just 30 of these gold Bionicle masks made, 25 of which were from a 2001 giveaway; the other five were given to select LEGO staff members. The item went up for auction, with the bid going as high as $33,000. When the bidder couldn’t produce the funds, it officially went for just over $18,000. That money will now be used to support the Goodwill. And they got it for free! Imagine how the donor must feel?
RFK Jr. eyeing Rodgers, Ventura as top ’24 running mate contenders
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a very polarizing man. As the Kennedy descendent continues his run for presidency in the United States, he reportedly released his shortlist for Vice President, should he become the next leader for our friends south of the border. On that list was the controversial New York Jets quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, as well as professional wrestler-turned-politician Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura. Regardless of politics, that is certainly a trio that would make some compelling television should they get what they want… US Election season ends this fall.
Canada is raising minimum wage next month
Well, as the country will be celebrating April Fools Day, the federal government will once again raise minimum wage. Effective April 1st, minimum wage across Canada will become $17.30/hour. If my math is correct, that’s just under $36,000 for a full-time position. This comes as the majority of Canadians are struggling with the high cost of living. We’ll see if this helps, and hopefully the price of everything doesn’t also just go up with it. Something tells me Galen Weston is planning that exact thing…
Mild winter brings about early tick sightings in Canada
We’re in the middle of a beautiful week here in Milton, but reports say this fantastic weather is also coming with a negative: ticks! Yes, with winter winding down, and with it having been a mild one at that, it seems that tick sightings have started early. So, with the kids on March Break, and dog parks filling up, you might want to be a bit more proactive on the tick checks. Last thing you need is a blood sucking pest in your life… I already get that from my ex!
Toronto woman offering $10,000 reward for safe return of missing cat
If you feel like roleplaying as Ace Ventura, you could earn up to $10,000. A Toronto woman lost her cat, Mika. He’s a rare Savannah cat, and was last seen last week in the Casa Loma area. The cat got out during renovations at the owner’s Toronto home, and they’re worried sick for the poor guy. Hopefully Mika is found! $10,000! I might be calling in sick tomorrow to hunt for this little guy…
It now takes 39 years to buy a home in the GTA
How’s the house hunt going for you? Want to hear something awful? Yeah, you do! A study done by real estate agency Zoocasa found the average home price in the Greater Toronto Area is just over $1 million. It says that if your household income was $85,000, it would take 39 years to save up for the minimum down payment of ~$200,000. If you’re okay with moving, Thunder Bay is your best bet to buy a home. Your down payment in the GTA would almost outright buy you a home in Thunder Bay. The downside is that you’d have to live in Thunder Bay.
