You can help name two new Milton schools!
The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) needs help in deciding on new names for two Milton schools and one Oakville school. All three will officially open for the 2024-2025 school year.
In accordance with Policy I-15 School Name Selection, a School Naming Committee has been established for each of the three communities. They are looking for input from the community in choosing school names for these new schools.
Submissions for Milton #10 Catholic Elementary School will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, March 16th. It’s is located at 675 Kennedy Circle West in Milton. The school actually completed construction in 2022, and was used as the holding school for students expected to attend St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School. It officially becomes its own school this fall. Enter your submission here.
You can also submit a name for Milton #9 Catholic Elementary School. The school will be located at 390 Gordon Krantz Avenue. Learn more about the school here. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 18th.
The HCDSB says the School Naming Committees will review the submissions and develop a short list. The HCDSB community can then vote on their preferred name from the short list. The School Naming Committees will then finalize the priority list of names, and submit to the Board of Trustees on April 16th. A Board of Trustees vote will be held on May 8th. The new school names will become official once the Board has received the blessing from His Excellency, Douglas Crosby, Bishop of Hamilton.
