Daily WTF – Mob of hopping kangaroos invade Australian golf course
You’ve heard of a kangaroo court – well, here’s a kangaroo course! Golfers in Victoria, Australia were invaded by a mob of kangaroos. Dozens (maybe even hundreds) of the large marsupials stormed the green, looking like a scene out of Jurassic Park. The worst part? They led the group play, shooting four under for the day. Those ‘roos… They know how to swing a set of clubs!

Daily Did You Know – You can be a ‘Good Neighbour’ with the return of annual Milton clean-up day
The COVID-19 pandemic affected us in a lot of ways. One of those was how life just stopped and everything shut down. It’s taken a while for us to truly get back to “normal,” but we’re getting there! One local event that is finally coming back is ‘Milton Good Neighbours Day’! It’s been around for almost 30 years and it’s finally being held again here in town. On Saturday, April 27th, join the group and help clean up the garbage on Milton’s streets and parks. It starts at 8am, with the gang gathering at Town Hall. Have fun!
How is March Break going?
We’re onto Day Two of March Break here in Halton, how’s it going? My wife works for the HDSB, so she was kind of forced to take this week off. She’s at home, finding ways to keep herself busy. She spent several hours yesterday unclogging our shower drain, which certainly sounds relaxing to me. How are you doing? Are you the kids off at camp? Are they home playing video games and watching TV? Are they also getting this cold that’s going around? Let me know!
ServiceOntario scammer posts crimes on Facebook
It’s never a good idea to air your laundry on Facebook, and that’s especially true if you’re a criminal. Brampton’s Milton Hylton (yes, that’s his real name) is facing 168 charges after showcasing his crimes all over Facebook. According to reports, Milton Hylton was operating an unlicensed car dealership under the name ‘Royalty in the Building Inc.’ Milton Hylton was illegally changing vehicle identification numbers on stolen cars to resell them. Milton Hylton then boasted about his “business” on social media, and was quickly arrested by Peel Police. It’s believed that friends and family members of Milton Hylton are also complicit in this scam. Poor Milton Hylton, he never stood a chance with that name.
Princess Kate says sorry for manipulated family photo
Have you been following this Kate Middleton story? So, what I’ve gathered is that Princess Catherine underwent a sudden medical procedure and has been out of the public eye for longer than normal. The press has been antsy, and so to dispel any growing concerns, Middleton posted a family picture for the UK’s Mother’s Day over the weekend. Thing is, people noticed that something was off with the photo – it was clearly edited. News outlets then had to pull the photo due to its inauthenticity, and the story then became all about this photo… which was the opposite of what she wanted! Middleton then issued a statement that she edited the photo, saying she sometimes plays around with things like Photoshop in her spare time and just wanted to improve the picture. Conspiracy theorists believe this is an old photo that’s been repurposed, though that’s obviously not confirmed. But now people are asking, “what’s up with Kate? Why can’t she post a normal photo?” Considering how private the Royal Family has been with other medical issues, it’s definitely a little suspicious. I feel bad for her, though. I can’t imagine this is fun for her!
Why people are calling for John Mulaney to host the Oscars
Comedian John Mulaney has had a rollercoaster few years. He went from Saturday Night Live writer to becoming one of the biggest comedians on the planet. He then hosted SNL five times in less than four years. He had a very public and sudden divorce with his wife, who was a large part of his comedy act, and then announced he and actress Olivia Munn were expecting a baby. Mulaney THEN went into rehab for drug addiction, came out of rehab looking healthy, and has been on a comedy roll ever since. Now, people are calling for Mulaney to host the Oscar’s next year, all because he went on a tangent about the film ‘Field of Dreams’ while presenting the Academy Award for Sound Design. He has a history of hosting award shows in the past, and has been very successful with his appearances on SNL, so maybe he could give Jimmy Kimmel a break next year!
Suspected Interstellar Signal May Have Just Been a Noisy Truck
This would be an awful episode of the X-Files. This would be one of those episodes where neither Mulder nor Scully were there for it, so they just filmed Skinner doing something as he’s joined by like, Kramer from Seinfeld or something. Years ago, a meteor fell from the sky. Last year, the meteor made headlines when scientists went to the site of where this meteor hit Earth, and they found debris. They collected all the space rock and what they called “alien technology” and reports called it “clear proof that aliens exist.” Which is a bold statement, and sounds too good to be true. That’s because, according to the latest update, it is! A scientist looked at the data, and he found the seismic waves of this meteor entering Earth’s atmosphere and striking the planet matched perfectly with the waves a truck would make as it passed the seismometer. Essentially, what was supposed to be ALIENS, was actually just some guys truck in Papua New Guinea. Foiled again!
Hearing these words can make you run faster instantly
Would you like to go fast? All you need is the magic words. Researchers teamed up with the Tottenham Hotspurs. They found that simple analogies go a long way when motivating athletes. The top phrase in the report was “sprinting like a jet plane taking off,” which boosted the athletes by three per cent within a 20 metre span. The study dives into how words affect our mind, and it says that comparing an athlete to something fast, like a jet or a Ferrari, creates a picture in their mind. This makes it easier for them to put in that little extra effort, rather than just yelling at them to run fast. I’ll stick with the classics.
