Things are about to get wacky when it comes to the weather.
It’s a warm Wednesday morning in Milton, but Environment Canada says that warmth will disappear as the day goes on. The high today will reach 12°C, and drop down to -2°C by the end of the afternoon.
This sharp change in temperature has led to a Special Weather Statement:
“A strong cold front is expected to track through southern Ontario this afternoon causing temperatures to drop dramatically along with the development of strong northwesterly winds gusting to 70 or 80 km/h for much of the afternoon and evening. Winds are expected to ease tonight.
“The sudden temperature drop may lead to icy surfaces as temperatures fall below the freezing mark through the day. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”
On top of the sudden cold weather, Miltonians can also expect snow overnight. 2cm is in the forecast, on top of the flurries throughout the day. Thursday morning will start cloudy and cold, so make sure to drive slow on your commute tomorrow.
Things will warm back up on Friday, and temperatures will reach double digits again over the weekend when it’s March.
