How much is the rest of your day worth?
A recent survey found the average person values the rest of their day at $134. This is after work, and factors in chores like cleaning, cooking, and driving.
It adds that while the average person spends just $35 on any given day, they value their time off to be four times worth that amount.
If you were paid to do your chores, how much would you expect?

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – The history behind Milton’s Bond Head Court and Dalhousie Gate
Each week, Milton Historical Society President John Challinor shares the stories of how two local streets got their names. This week featured two streets that were named after federal administrators, with one having a particularly unique Milton tie. We’ll have two more next week!
Daily WTF – Florida Man Games officially kick off
The state of Florida and its residents have become synonymous with chaos. It’s created the term ‘Florida Man’, after people repeatedly noticed headlines starting with “Florida Man…” and ending with some unique and chaotic crime. Don’t believe me? Play the Florida Man game, where you google “Florida Man” with the day you were born. Something strange always pops up. This has inspired the ‘Florida Man Games’, an event created to poke fun at the state’s reputation. They officially began in St. Augustine, and feature events involving evading police and fighting in swampy conditions. Ticket sales are expected to top 5000 total, with each going for $45 a pop. Not a bad day for the organizers! Maybe they’ll start a ‘Florida Woman Games’ next…
More yo-yo weather incoming
If you thought last week was an up and down temperature affair, get ready for this week. Forecasts are calling for double digit temps for Tuesday and Wednesday, including lots of rain and potential thunderstorms. After that though, we’re dropping back down to freezing temperatures heading into Thursday. Will that last? Not one bit. It’s back up on Friday. Snip, snap, snip, snap.
Daily Did You Know – This Milton road will be closed for the next two months
Commuters beware! A Milton road has officially closed for the next two months. The Town of Milton says work remains underway for the Britannia Widening project, and this will collide with the work that’s been going on for Fifth Line. That means Fifth Line is now closed from Britannia Road to Lower Base Line. Local access and access to businesses will be maintained along Fifth Line at all times. It’s expected to re-open mid-April.
Beyoncé’s ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ Hits No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100
It seems the shift to country music was the right call for Beyoncé. Despite some country fans yelling at the cloud about the move, Beyoncé has reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. That’s for her new single ‘Texas Hold ‘Em‘. It’s her ninth solo song leader. She’s broken all kinds of historical records as a woman and a person of colour. On top of that, Beyoncé also got a major nod of approval from one of the GOATs of country music: Dolly Parton. Beyoncé’s new country album comes out next month!
KFC debuts chicken based pizza known as ‘Chizza’
Trying to decide between pizza and fried chicken? Instead of going to two different places, you can now go to one location and buy both… with just one order. KFC has launched what they’re calling a ‘Chizza’. It’s a chicken pizza, but not the way you might be used to in that, it’s LITERALLY a chicken pizza. Using fried chicken as the base, and layering sauce, cheese, and pepperoni, it’s kind of like ordering a weird chicken parm. Can’t wait to one day try it!
Dune 2 is being released to record setting review scores
The sequel to the massive sci-fi hit ‘Dune’ is set to be released this weekend. ‘Dune: Part Two’ is believed to finish the original story from the first novel by Frank Herbert, and with 148 reviews already published, the film is setting all kinds of records. It has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, passing other sci-fi hits like Terminator 2, Blade Runner, and Alien. The 57-year-old book series that helped inspire virtually every modern sci-fi franchise, including Star Wars, appears to be a hit with the masses. I got my tickets! It’s released in theatres this Thursday.
Taylor Swift Passes The Beatles for Most Weeks in Billboard 200’s Top 10 in Last 60 Years
Taylor Swift continues to break records set by The Beatles. The biggest name in music is currently on tour in Australia, but that didn’t stop her from breaking the record for ‘most weeks in Billboard 200’s Top 10 album list in the last 60 years’. Her 16 top 10 albums have logged a combined 384 weeks in the top 10, surpassing Beatlemania. Why is the caveat of 60 years so important? Well, back in August of 1963, Billboard officially combined their stereo and mono charts, making one mega-chart. The billionaire continues to make headlines and history, and there’s no sign of slowing down!
Drake wants Canada to make this US city a province for a day
Drake might just be the biggest musician that Canada has ever produced, and the man is not shy about loving his country. It’s also no secret that Canadians have a soft spot for the city of Buffalo, despite it being an American city. Drake is performing in Buffalo soon, and the artist took to social media to ask the federal government to make the city an honorary Canadian province for one night only. Why did he make such a weird request? He wants his friends who can’t leave the country to have the chance to experience the city and see him perform live. It’s an odd thing to ask for, that almost certainly will not happen for all kinds of logistic reasons… but as Wayne Gretzky (and Michael Scott) once said, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
