How often do you workout?
A study says you don’t need to workout every day to lose weight. You don’t even need to workout during the week!
If you’re busy with your 9 – 5, Monday – Friday, the study says you can be a weekend warrior. The goal is to workout at a moderate level for 150 minutes per week OR 75 minutes at an intense level. If you can’t get that in during the week, experts recommend doing all that work on Saturday and Sunday instead. As long as you eat (fairly) healthy, and you hit your exercise goals, how often you workout won’t necessarily matter too much!
What’s your fitness schedule like? Every day? A few times a week? Once a year?
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – The history behind Milton’s Chretien Street and Gosford Crescent
Two streets this week that have a slight connection. One is a former Prime Minister who helped ease tensions between Quebec and the rest of Canada, while the other is a former Governor General who was brought in to ease tensions between French/English Canadians. We’ll have two more streets next week!
Daily WTF – Man modifies ride-on toy car to reach 92.24 mph
When was the last time you hit 150km/h? German electrical engineering student Marcel Paul was able to modify a child’s rideable toy car. Using his skills, the little makeshift go-kart reached just over 92 mph, equaling about 149 km/h, and breaking a world record. The reason why he did this? On top of getting a record, he thought it’d be fun to try to get past the 88 mph mark set by the film, ‘Back to the Future’. Luckily for him, he didn’t end up crashing into a barn back in 1955. I don’t think he’d survive that kind of impact the same way Marty McFly in a DeLorean does in the movie.
Daily Did You Know – Enjoy the ‘Taste of Downtown Milton’
This Friday is the launch of ‘Taste of Downtown Milton’! The nearly-month-long campaign will involve a bunch of downtown restaurants and will offer special deals for customers to enjoy some great meals. Just make sure you check the times and dates, because some restaurants are only offering lunch/dinner deals, while others are all-day. Have fun, and try something new!
Tom Sandoval compares his cheating scandal to George Floyd and OJ Simpson
Have you ever put your foot in your mouth? Figuratively, I mean. That’s what Tom Sandoval did. If you don’t know who he is, Sandoval is the man behind the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ infamous SCANDOVAL. He’s one of the stars of the reality show, and he was cheating on his partner during the show. That’s the best I can explain it as someone who has not watched the show. Anyway, it was a big deal online, as the show is pretty massive. It was such a big deal that during a recent New York Times interview, Sandoval said the media coverage was comparable to George Floyd and OJ Simpson. People did not take kindly to those comparisons, and the whole thing has once again blown up in Tommy Boy’s face. Which I’m sure he kind of loves, considering he’s a reality show star that requires headlines to maintain his fame. Gotta love reality TV.
Four Beatles Biopics in the Works From Sam Mendes
If you’ve enjoyed the run of biopics on old musicians (Bob Marley, Freddie Mercury, Elvis, Elton John, etc.) then you’ll be happy to know that a Beatles biopic is in the works. Actually, not just one, but FOUR. Sam Mendes is tasked with making four movies, each covering the life of a member of The Beatles. They’ll all come out in 2027, and will likely be treated like really long episodes of a miniseries. With the Get Back restored documentary, and the release of the final Beatles song, Beatlemania is still going strong, even in 2024.
How a U2 concert was used to send a message to Nashville Predators
Have you ever been punished by your boss for poor performance? It’s not necessarily a strange concept. For the players on the NHL’s Nashville Predators team, they got a rather callous punishment for their recent performances. The team was scheduled to go on a trip to Las Vegas and see U2 perform at the Vegas Sphere. But, due to a bad stretch of games, including a 9-2 thumping by the Dallas Stars, general manager Barry Trotz and coach Andrew Brunette decided the boys didn’t deserve a reward. The players were supposed to fly into Vegas last weekend ahead of a Tuesday game against the Golden Knights. Part of this early travel was to include the concert, but the team stayed home over the weekend. Instead, they flew in on Monday, missing out on what has been deemed a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience. In case you’re wondering, they’ve won two in a row since the concert was officially cancelled… so maybe it worked!
Beyoncé becomes first Black woman to top Billboard’s Country songs chart with Texas Hold ‘Em
It seems Beyoncé’s move to country music is being hailed a success! At least, for sensible people. She became the first black woman to top Billboard’s Country songs chart with one of her two new singles, “Texas Hold ‘Em“. She’s also the first woman to top both the Hot Country Songs and Hot Hip-Hop Songs charts since the lists began in 1958. Beyoncé is quite literally making history with this song and new album. It is a shame that some country fans are gatekeeping their genre due to her history with pop music. That said, I hope Beyoncé tackles every genre and annoys all of their gatekeeping fans. Move over, Metallica. The Queen of Metal is coming.
100-year-old diver performs dive at the 2024 World Championships
You’re never too old to do what you love, and for 100-year-old Taghi Askari, he was able to dive at the 2024 World Championships. It’s been 73 since the Iranian man won a silver and bronze medal at the first-ever Asian Games, and apparently, he never lost his passion for the sport. My wife’s grandfather is in his 90s now, and I can’t imagine ‘Big Daddy’ Bruce ever jumping off a diving board. Good on this man, keep doing you!

Here’s Why People Are Creating “Bed Rotting Agendas”
We’ve talked about the term ‘Bed Rotting’ before. It’s Gen Z slang that became popular through TikTok. It essentially means spending all day in bed. Say you have Saturday off, and you don’t really have any responsibilities that day, so you spend all day in bed watching Netflix. According to kids today, you’re “rotting in bed.” It’s a gross term for being lazy.
A woman on TikTok has gone viral for posting about ‘Bed Rotting Agendas’. The example she gives is that you realize it’s 3pm on a Saturday, and all you’ve done is sit in bed and watch Netflix. She has given you suggestions on how to kickstart your day so that you get SOMETHING done.
- She recommends you put your feet to the floor, stand up, and go to the washroom.
- You should then make your bed, stretch for one-minute, and change out of your pajamas into loungewear.
- You then need to eat something, and make sure you don’t eat in your bed.
- Get a walk in to get that sunlight on your skin.
- If you have anything you need to do that day digitally (emails, registering, schoolwork, etc.), she recommends you bring your laptop or tablet to a table and get that stuff done.
- Reward yourself with some Netflix once that’s completed and then eat dinner.
- By then, you can shower and get back into bed.
AND JUST LIKE THAT, you’ve had a pretty fulfilling day in just a few hours time. Keep this agenda in mind the next time you find yourself rotting in bed all day.
