It took a bit to take break the seal, but once the Milton Menace got on the board, they were able to take care of the Toronto Patriots.
The two teams played each other on Saturday, February 3rd at the Westwood Arena in Toronto.
Both teams were held scoreless in the first frame, but it was Owen Kindree who got on the board first at the 7:21 in the second period. His 6th of the year was assisted by Captain Connor Driscoll and Ivan Fabjan. Milton got another just over a minute later thanks to Isaac Barrett. His 2nd of the season was assisted by Nicholas Wereha and Tristan Tremble. The Menace had a 2-0 lead heading into the second intermission.
The final frame started off with a goal from Wereha. His 6th of the season was assisted by Tremble and Kindree. The Patriots were able to get on the board 29 seconds later, but the Menace snuffed out any chance of a comeback. Justin O’Donnell would seal away the game with an empty netter. His 15th of the year was assisted by Barrett and Aidan Puley. The Menace beat the Patriots 4-1.
In net for Milton was Forbes Andersen. His second game of the season was a good one stopping 29 of 30 shots, good for a .967% save percentage.
The Menace will stay on the road this week, with the Georgetown Raiders next up. Puck-drop at the Mold Masters Sportsplex will be at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7th.
They return home on Sunday, February 11th when they play the Niagara Falls Canucks. With it being the day of the Super Bowl, game-time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Milton Menace home tickets for this OJHL season can be found here.
