Milton Menace fans cheer the team on during 2019-2020 season
The Milton Menace were able to take the lead in the season series against the Leamington Flyers on Thursday, February 1st.
Heading into this match-up, the two teams had played three games against each other this season. Both had a win apiece, along with a tie. It was about as even as you can get in three games of hockey.
The fourth game started off strong for the Menace, with Owen Kindree getting on the board first. His 4th goal of the season was on the powerplay, with assists from Aidan Puley and Captain Connor Driscoll. The Flyers then scored back-to-back goals to take the early lead, but Milton answered right back. Graeme Macauley scored with less than a minute in the first. His 7th was assisted by Markus Hicks and Puley. It was 2-2 after 20 minutes of action.
No one scored in the second period, so we’ll jump right to the third. Nicholas Wereha gave Milton their second lead of the game. His 5th of the season was assisted by Ivan Fabjan and Sett Ursomarzo. Less than two minutes later, Leamington would tie the game. It would be 3-3 after regulation, which sent the game to overtime.
Thursday night’s hero was Owen Kindree, scoring his 2nd of the game and 5th on the season. The lone assist came from cap himself, Connor Driscoll. The Menace beat the Flyers 4-3 in OT.
In net for Milton was Glen Crandall. While he didn’t score this week, he did stop 22 of 25 shots, giving him an .888% save percentage.
The Menace will stay on the road this weekend, making a stop in Toronto to take on the Patriots on Saturday, February 3rd. Game-time is listed for 7:30 p.m. at the Westwood Arena.
They return home on Sunday, February 11th when they play the Niagara Falls Canucks. With it being the day of the Super Bowl, game-time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Milton Menace home tickets for this OJHL season can be found here.
