Do you collect anything?
A Saskatchewan family reportedly has what is being called a ‘holy grail’ of hockey cards. They have a large case of unopened O-Pee-Chee brand cards from 1979, and could potentially have up to 25 Wayne Gretzky rookie cards.
The family has put up the cards for auction, with bids already surpassing $1 million. It all boils down to the mystery. If the Gretzky cards are there, it could skyrocket in value even further.
There’s speculation that whoever buys the case might not open it. They’d instead resell it at a higher value at a later date, mystery intact. Talk about a gamble!
Are you a collector of anything? Potato chips that look like celebrities? Unique looking rocks? Discontinued LEGO sets?
Let me know!

Daily WTF – Northern Ont. pizza shop’s ‘unforeseen circumcisions’ typo goes viral
To quote The Princess Bride, “You keep saying that word… I do not think that word means what you think it means…” A Pizza Hut franchise in Timmins, Ontario had their sign go viral recently after people noticed a typo. Instead of saying “due to unforeseen circumstances,” the sign read, “due to unforeseen circumcisions…” This obviously made a lot of people chuckle and crack jokes. Could you imagine if this wasn’t a typo? I wanna hear THAT news story. Read more here…
Halton Police use drone to locate person-in-crisis
This is just a neat story. On Sunday, officers received word of a missing person-in-crisis. The goal was to act fast, but the location in which this person was missing (Neyagawa Boulevard and Dundas Street West) reportedly has a lot of wooded areas. To help with the search, the Halton Police launched a drone. Within a few hours of the first report, the missing person-in-crisis was located and taken to hospital. Their life was saved because of the use of a drone by the Halton Police. Sounds like something out of a television show! Read more here…

Universal Music Group Warns It Will Pull Songs From TikTok After Deal Expiration
A big aspect of TikTok is the music library that it has for users. People can use music to play in their videos, and soon, that library could get a lot smaller. Universal and TikTok are trying to negotiate a new deal that pays the music label for the rights of use of songs. If the current deal expires, we’d see artists like Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, and many more, get pulled from the social media platform. Could be a real blow to the app if it happens. Today’s the day the deal expires, and at the time of writing, there’s no agreement for a new one. We’ll see how long this standoff ends up lasting for, could be a few hours, could be months. If you’re looking to travel, you might want to stay in the country and check out these two famous Canadian cities. No, Milton did not make this global ranking by travel company Time Out. Valentine’s Day spending on significant others is expected to hit a record $14.2 billion this year
Many people are tired of the Hallmark Holiday, but that doesn’t mean they won’t play along. February 14th is the most romantic day of the year, and if you’re spending money on a gift, you’re not alone. Estimates right now, for the US, are that total spending for Valentine’s Day will hit a record $14.2 billion in 2024. Canada will be less due to a smaller population, but the trends tend to be the same between borders. Will you get a gift for your partner this year? You have two weeks! Read more here...
Neuter your ex this Valentines Day
If you had a rough break-up recently, don’t fret – just get your ex neutered! A New Jersey animal shelter is holding a special promotion that asks people to name feral cats after their exes. You then donate $50, and the cat will be neutered or spayed! The reason for the promotion? Well, just like your ex, the shelter says, “some things just shouldn’t breed.” Perfectly said. With it being New Jersey, I just know there’s going to be a lot of Rickys, Johnnys, and Vinnies getting snipped this Valentine’s Day. As they should be! Read more here…
HMV is making a comeback, but not where you’d expect
If you’re above the age of 20, maybe 25, there’s a good chance you remember HMV. The store was the go-to location for new CDs, vinyl, DVDs, posters, and quirky t-shirts. The stores closed down across Canada in 2017. Their locations quickly turned into Sunrise Records, and they continued the trend of selling physical media in a now-digital world. Well, HMV is making a comeback, just they won’t be alone this time. Toys ‘R Us has spent the last few months renovating their stores, and now residents in the Greater Toronto Area can find HMV sections INSIDE of Toys ‘R Us. Think like, how Zellers is now inside The Hudson’s Bay locations. Can’t wait for the year 2030, when Payless Shoes are entirely within Winners/Homesense stores (this is a joke). If you’re someone who misses HMV, here’s your chance to relive the nostalgia! Read more here…
