What’s your go-to snack?
We’re nearing the end of January, and many people may be getting sick of their New Year’s Resolution Diet. A study says: don’t be afraid to snack! While you may have an overwhelming urge to snack, you might regret it if you act on those desires. The study says, you don’t need to regret it.
Actually, allowing yourself to snack can be good for losing weight. Showing self-compassion and not getting down in the dumps after snacking can play a key role in healthier weight loss behaviour. They say you should treat yourself like you treat a loved one. If you snack, so what!
Keep working hard and putting in the effort. Ultimately, a bag of chips every now and then won’t hamper your long term fitness journey.
What’s your go-to snack? Chips? Chocolate? Candy? Something else?
Let me know!

Daily WTF – Japanese Zoo Chases Staff Member in Bear Costume to Test Animal Escape Plan
Smarter than your average bear! A zoo in Japan wanted to test their animal escape plan, and instead of putting the animal, visitors, and staff in danger by releasing a live bear, they decided to test it in the most unique way. They dressed up a staff member in a bear costume and had them try to escape the park. Other staff treated the situation as seriously as possible (I’m sure it was hard) and they chased the man down using existing strategies. Eventually, the “bear” was successfully captured and thrown into a van. Sounds like a fun day at work! Read more here…

You’ve been using your pillow wrong
Experts say the average person spends 26 years of their life in bed, and you should probably make sure you’re utilizing that time as best as you can. Apparently, if you only use a pillow for your head, you’re doing it wrong! They say you should keep a pillow between your legs as well. This is supposed to help with body aches and pain, and even help with recovery from exercise thanks to improving blood circulation. The same experts add that you can even have a pillow behind your back for the same reason, while also improving your posture overnight. Read more here…
Elon Musk to hire more moderators after explicit Taylor Swift ‘deepfakes’ go viral
Human beings using artificial intelligence have caused a lot of issues the last few weeks. They’ve been using AI to create alarmingly realistic (and explicit) images of Taylor Swift. These images have been posted online, particularly through X (FKA Twitter), and it seems owner Elon Musk is looking to fight back. He’s reportedly hiring 100 more moderators who will be looking for explicit AI images of real people, like Swift. The goal is to tackle child abuse online, which obviously, they list these ‘deepfake‘ images under that category. We’ll see how it goes. It hasn’t been the best tenure for Musk after buying Twitter. Hopefully this effort improves the product, because my goodness, X is a bit of a nuclear wasteland at times. Read more here…
Is this Amelia Earhart’s long-lost plane? Explorer believes he’s solved the great mystery
In 1937, pilot Amelia Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan went missing. The goal was to make Earhart the first woman to pilot a plane around the world. It never happened, and the disappearance of their plane has become a global mystery ever since. Conspiracy theories have popped up, and Earhart has since become an icon and an empowering figure. Now, nearly 87-years later, someone believes they found their plane. Tony Romeo has spent $11 million to try and locate the lost plane, and has scanned 5,200 square miles of ocean floor using sonar. Recently, they found something. 100 miles off the coast of Howland Island, halfway between Australia and Hawaii, a structure was found at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. It certainly looks like a small plane. It’s believed to be 5,000 metres underwater. For reference, the Titan implosion wreck from the summer of 2023 happened less than 4,000 metres down. If they’re going to get this plane out of the water, it will be an expensive endeavour… But most likely worth it. Read more here…
Taylor Swift has generated a whopping $330 million for NFL with Travis Kelce romance
There’s a good chance that, by now, you’re sick of the media coverage for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. You know who’s not sick of it? The National Football League. Experts believe the last few months have brought in the equivalent of $331.5 million in free advertising for the NFL. It accounts for the print, television, radio, and social media coverage of the couple’s romance since she first appeared at a Chiefs game in September 2023. With the Chiefs now going to the Super Bowl in 12 days, that number is expecting to rise exponentially. By the way, did you know they said ‘I love you’ to each other after Sunday’s game? I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty invested at this point. Read more here…

Elmo Asked the Internet How It’s Doing, and the Answer Is Not Great, Elmo
Well, at least the thought was there. Elmo started trending on social media last night after its official X/Twitter account asked “Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?” Turns out, that was an opportunity for every human being on social media to trauma dump on poor Elmo. The responses went so negative so fast that it led to Sesame Street to post resources for mental health. One thing’s for certain, therapy is WAY above Elmo’s paygrade. The guy can’t even stand his friends praising a rock, he has his own issues to worry about. Read more here…
