We have less than a month until Valentine’s Day
Many people the week of (and even day of) will be scrambling to find their partner a gift
For most, chocolate and flowers will do. For others, they get creative! A quick search online led me to books, bags, board games, and more!
Do you have unique V-Day gift ideas?

Daily WTF – Zoos bringing back “Name a Roach” gift in time for Valentine’s Day
If your ex keeps coming back even after you’ve tried to end it, you might compare them to a cockroach. The seemingly un-killable pest plays a key role on Valentine’s Day. Zoos across the world will allow visitors to name cockroaches after their exes. For the Bronx Zoo, the cost is just $15. For an extra $20, you can watch live video of ‘Johnny’ being eaten by a “special surprise animal guest.” Plushies and socks will also be available for purchase. Will it help you get your stuff back? Nope. Will it give you closure? Probably not. Will it be satisfying to watch? Most definitely. For this Valentine’s Day, aim for satisfaction. Read more here…
Crave subscribers will need to fork out $2 more per month to avoid ads
Netflix kickstarted a new trend among streaming services. In 2023, they added a new tier: ‘With Ads’. This was cheaper than the rest, but it also allowed them to increase the ‘Premium’ tier in price. Disney Plus quickly followed, as did Amazon Prime Video. Bell Media’s Crave also adopted this model, and they’ve now raised their Premium prices. To avoid ads, customers will now have to pay $22. The lowest tier ‘Basic with Ads’ will stay at $9.99. This comes as HBO is preparing to release the latest Game of Thrones show, and for a lot of people, HBO is why they have Crave. It’s getting to a point where if you wanted every streaming service in Canada (Netflix, Disney, Amazon, Crave, Apple, YouTube, Crunchyroll, etc.) you could potentially be spending close to $150 a month. So much for cutting the cord! Read more here…

Hockey announcer goes berserk after puck sails over glass and nearly hits him
This is more just a fun clip to play on the radio. A hockey announcer in Halifax got a little more than he bargained for when a puck JUST missed his face. Unlucky for him, his microphone was obviously turned on – and he didn’t come across as super brave. To be fair, no one knows how they’d react if, in the middle of their job, six ounces of vulcanized rubber whipped past their fast at 140 km/h. Regardless, the clip is a great listen. Read more here…
Gene Simmons Announces First Solo Band Show Following KISS’ Farewell Tour
While KISS isn’t necessarily the big deal they were close to 50 years, this story is a big deal for their fans in and around the Toronto and Ottawa areas. Late last year, KISS came through Ontario as part of their farewell tour. Unfortunately, both the Toronto and Ottawa shows were cancelled. One of the band members was seriously sick, and they couldn’t perform. AND THAT WAS ALL FOR THE BAND. Out with a whimper in a way. If you missed out on seeing KISS one last time, you can now see the band’s lead singer by himself. Gene Simmons has announced a solo tour. Keep an eye out for tickets should he decide to ‘rock and roll’ through Ontario one last time. Read more here…
TMZ Sources Say Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are Entering a “Very Challenging Stage of Their Relationship”
First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes something something baby carriage. Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been dated for seemingly 19 weeks (thank you NFL schedule). Things appear to be pretty serious, especially considering most people thought it was a publicity stunt the first time they were seen together. That said, rumours came out that both were considering engagement this summer. Those have since been shot down, but TMZ says this next stretch could be a real test for the two. My question is, should the engagement eventually happen, what kind of ring do you buy a billionaire? She could end up with a rock the size of her head at this point. Read more here…
Selena Gomez to reunite with ‘Waverly Place’ co-star David Henrie in new Disney reboot pilot
Get ready to live like it’s 2007 again! Disney over the years has made the decision to make reboot a lot of their old shows over the years. ‘Girl Meets World’ and ‘How I Met Your Father’ come to mind. The latest show to get the reboot/sequel treatment, WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE. It’s the show that made Selena Gomez a household name for preteens everywhere at the time. She’s since become a popstar, and starred in movies and TV shows. The Waverly Place sequel will bring her back as a guest star, while co-star (and How I Met Your Mother alum) David Henrie takes the leading reins. We’ll see how this one goes! Read more here…
Madonna being sued by fans for starting concert late
Madonna is currently on her world tour, which is huge considering she had a serious health scare last year. But it seems her fans aren’t just happy to be there. Two of them are taking the singer to court (or at least, are trying to take her to court) over the start time of her show in New York. Madonna was expected on the stage at 8:30 p.m. at the December show. She didn’t come out until 10:30 p.m. TWO HOURS. She’s now being sued for ‘wanton exercise in false advertising’. Apparently her being late is a trend, as the duo said they experienced the same thing at past concerts. They say being two hours late affected their lives, citing transportation and other issues. This will likely get thrown out of court, but maybe a judge will play ball with these fans. In that case, they better have a better lawyer than MADONNA. Good luck! Read more here…
