Milton’s Country Heritage Park is receiving funding from the provincial government!
The Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport is providing Country Heritage Park, with over $149,000 in funding through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Capital grant stream. This funding is aiming to ensure that communities have safe and ready access to critical programming, activities, and spaces.
“This investment of over $149,000 in Country Heritage Park will enrich the lives of people in Milton and across Ontario,” says Parm Gill, Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton. “Organizations such as Country Heritage Park are the pillars of our community, and this funding will enable them to better serve Miltonians and continue to make a positive difference.”
Provincial funding that is received through the OTF’s Capital grant stream improves the infrastructure that Ontarians need to thrive. Whether it’s purchasing equipment, building a new space, or completing renovations, retrofits or repairs, these grants support projects that are having a positive difference.
“Non-profit organizations across Ontario deliver programming that makes a difference – helping people train for new careers, learn new things, or simply connect with those around them,” says Neil Lumsden, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport. “That’s why the capital grant support that my ministry is providing is so important. Our government wants to ensure that these spaces remain the heart of communities across our province.”
Capital grants improve access to programs and technology in community spaces, making it easier for Ontarians to participate in community programs. Funded projects:
- Improve access to facilities, programs, activities, and services.
- Improve existing spaces and support new build projects.
- Make programs and services better and more efficient.
- Make better use of technology.
“Investments, like this, may go unnoticed because many don’t see the Tremaine Market Food Bank or the dollars invested, which lift up all individuals and families that are finding it difficult to put food on their tables, but they help organizations like ours give back to our community,” says Jamie Reaume, CEO of Country Heritage Park. “Thank you to the Ontario government and our fellow residents for ensuring that those using our facility to feed their families and others, are being treated with respect and care, an essential component to being a citizen in Ontario.”
