Do you think about your relationship the same way you think about exercise?
A recent survey found that most people have the same reason for sticking with both their partner and fitness routine: comfort! Just like with a partner, the majority of respondents felt it’s easier to stick with a lackluster workout than try something new.
That said, the opposite could be true! Respondents also said they’d be more outgoing with exercise if they had a partner to exercise with.
What do you think? Do relationships and exercise go hand in hand?

Daily WTF – This lawn has been named the ugliest in the world – but it’s all for a good cause
A woman in Australia has received the award for World’s Ugliest Lawn! Kathleen Murray’s stretch of patchy brown and yellow grass and dirt was the model of what the folks in Sweden were looking for when they began this contest. The goal is to emphasize saving water on a global scale by changing the norm for green lawns. I found this funny because I’m reading a Swedish book right now, and a part stresses that people with bad lawns make good neighbours. Seems the Swedes have lots of opinions on lawns. Congrats to Murray, and now YOU can feel good about your dog ruining your grass at home! Read more here…
Daily Did You Know – Here’s how drones will be used at Milton’s hospital
You won’t find many local stories cooler than this one. Drone Delivery Canada is teaming up with Halton Healthcare. They’ll use drones to deliver samples (blood, urine, and tissue) between Milton District Hospital and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. The ‘DroneCare project’ might even be used to deliver other important things as well. Even cooler, they’ll be using the helipad at MDH to “optimize efficiency”… That’s rad as heck. Read more here…
A storm is coming this weekend
Nice and simple: be prepared for more snow. We had a decent dropping on Tuesday, but that melted all away by Wednesday morning with the subsequent rain. Snow should begin tonight, and continue into tomorrow. Huzzah, winter is here! Read more here…
Kangaroo escapes southwestern Ontario zoo
Remember just over a month ago when a kangaroo got away from a handler and went missing over in Oshawa? That made international news for the sheer absurdity of imagining a kangaroo wandering through rural Ontario. What are the chances it happens again? Well, pretty high apparently – and it didn’t even take long for it to happen again. A kangaroo escaped a zoo in Chatham-Kent. Thankfully, this search wasn’t as extravagant and the little ‘roo was found just a few kilometres away. The zoo has taken a lot of heat, and experts say this kind of stuff might keep happening if more regulations aren’t put in place for “road side zoos.” I remember living in Yellowknife and hearing stories about a guy that owned a lion cub back in the ’70s. The thing apparently escaped all the time. Now THERE is something you wouldn’t want to see on Main Street. Read more on the escaped kangaroo here…
New device allows users to scroll with their tongues
Labelled as a mouse for your tongue! Now, thankfully, you’re not licking your phone or computer screen. That’d be horrendous. This device is touted as an implant that would allow people to scroll their electronics hands-free. Probably not ideal for the average able-bodied person, but someone who is unable to use their hands in anyway could really benefit from it! It’ll debut at the Consumer Electronics Show sometime this week. Read more here…
