The Milton Menace had a hard time with the Trenton Golden Hawks Wednesday night, losing 5-3 on the road.
It started out well for the Menace. Madden MacDougall opened the scoring 1:15 into the first period. Justin O’Donnell and Owen Kindree had the assists. Trenton would tie things up shortly after, but that would be all for the top frame. It was 1-1 after 20 minutes.
The Golden Hawks then jumped out to a two goal lead in the second period, with one coming late. The Menace trailed 3-1 heading into the second intermission.
Just as Trenton was starting to run away with it thanks to a fourth goal, Aidan Puley would bury one for Milton. His 18th was assisted by Connor Driscoll and Graeme Macauley. Trenton would score another pair of goals, with Puley another one himself. The Menace would lose the game 6-3.
Glen Crandall had a tough time this game, facing 38 shots and stopping just 32. That gave him an .842% save percentage, well below his season average.
Next up for the Menace will be another road game. They head to Niagara Falls this weekend to take on the Canucks in a rematch of their December 22nd game. Game-time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14th at the Gale Centre in Niagara Falls.
The next home game for the Menace is scheduled for Friday, January 19th. They host the Mississauga Chargers at the Milton Memorial Arena. Game-time starts at 7:30 p.m. Milton Menace home tickets for this OJHL season can be found here.
