Milton Menace fans cheer the team on during 2019-2020 season
The Milton Menace finished off 2023 on a good note.
After beating the Jr. Sabres in Buffalo on Wednesday, December 20th, the Menace came back across the border to take on the Niagara Falls Canucks at the Gale Centre in front of 415 people.
The Canucks opened up the scoring, getting one past Ariel Zaslaver in the first three minutes of the game. Four minutes later, the Menace would find twine on the powerplay. Aidan Puley buried his 15th of the season, assisted by Graeme Macauley and Captain Connor Driscoll. Milton would then take the lead before end of the first period, with Alexander Siletsky scoring his 8th of the year.
Driscoll and Owen Kindree got the assists. It was 2-1 Menace after 20 minutes.
Niagara tied things up in the second period. Shortly after that, Milton took back the lead and never looked back. With the man advantage, Puley would score again, assisted by Kindree and Ivan Fabjan. Driscoll would then score a goal of his own, his 18th, assisted by Macauley and Kindree. It was 4-2 Menace after 40 minutes.
The third period was uneventful on the scoresheet, with MacDougall potting his 14th of the season with 12 seconds left. It was assisted by Driscoll and Alessandro Petreccia. Milton beat Niagara Falls 5-2.
Zaslaver was in net in relief for Glen Crandall. He stopped 19 of 21 shots, good for a .904% save percentage.
The Menace have the rest of 2023 off. They’ll return to the ice on Friday, January 5th when they host the Buffalo Jr. Sabres at the Milton Memorial Arena. Puck-drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Milton Menace home tickets for this OJHL season can be found here.
