The Milton Menace were able to pull off a late win against a Halton region rival.
On Sunday, December 11th, the Menace were host to the Oakville Blades at the Milton Memorial Arena. The last time the two teams were scheduled to play, the game was postponed due to a union strike.
It started off strong for Oakville, as they held a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermision.
In the second period, Menace Captain Connor Driscoll put the boys on his back. He tied the game at the 6:50 mark, with help from Isaac Barrett and Ashtyn Pacheco. Less than 10 minutes later, Driscoll added his second of the game and his 16th of the season. Goal #2 was assisted by Owen Kindree and Alessandro Petreccia. The Menace led 2-1 after two periods of play.
Oakville was able to tie things up in the third, but just as things were looking to go to extra time, the Menace got a big goal while on the penalty kill. Sett Ursomarzo’s 11th of the season was an unassisted shorthander, and it proved to be the winner. Milton beat Oakville 3-2.
In net for Milton was Glen Crandall. He made 29 saves on 31 shots, good for a .935% save percentage.
The Menace are back on the ice on Friday, December 15th against the Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Puck-drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Milton Memorial Arena. Milton Menace home tickets for this OJHL season can be found here.
