The Milton District Hospital received a significant donation from the Milton District Hospital Auxiliary (MDHA).
Back on Wednesday, October 25th, the MDHA presented a $100,000 to the local hospital at their Annual General Meeting.
“Congratulations to the MDHA on another very successful year. In addition to their generous donation of time, the volunteers raise funds through the Gift Shop, 50/50 draws, plant sales and the very popular Strawberry Fair,” notes Janet Skupsky, Chief Operating Officer at Milton District Hospital. “Our volunteers do so much to support our hospital, from greeting you when you first walk through the door and helping in a myriad of clinics to providing assistance and encouragement to our frail elderly inpatients through the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP), their support is invaluable to our hospital and the patients and families that we serve.”
During the meeting, the accomplishments that volunteers achieved over the past year, along with the volunteer’s years of service were also celebrated.
“We can’t thank our amazing volunteers enough for their incredible commitment of time, talent and compassion,” says Michele Leroux, Halton Healthcare’s Chief Human Resources Officer, “We are so grateful for the work they do to help us provide exemplary patient experiences.”
Halton Healthcare’s hospitals accept applications for new volunteers twice a year. Adults and youth looking to volunteer can submit an application online. Click here for more information. The application period runs from January 1st to February 12th, 2024.
