The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested four suspects in relation to a stolen vehicle investigation in Oakville.
On Tuesday, September 12th, at roughly 4:20 a.m., officers attended the South Oakville Chrysler dealership at 174 Wyecroft Road in Oakville for reports of a group of suspects who were believed to be attempting to steal a blue Dodge Ram. The suspects had arrived in a black Dodge Ram that was later determined to have been stolen from Mississauga the day before.
Responding officers observed the black Ram in the area and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver failed to stop for police and fled the area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle ultimately lost control and hit a guard rail on the QEW westbound in the area of Bronte Road.
The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested at that time.
31-year-old Aashish Sharma of Mississauga was charged with:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (stolen licence plate)
- Possession of Master Key
- Possession of Break in Instruments
30-year-old Jennifer Singh of Toronto was charged with:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (stolen licence plate)
- Possession of Master Key
- Possession of Break in Instruments
- Flight from Police
- Dangerous Operation
- Fail to Comply with Release Order (two counts)
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
37-year-old Rajpal Sran of no fixed address was charged with:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (stolen licence plate)
- Possession of Master Key
- Possession of Break in Instruments
The three suspects were transported to hospital for minor injuries.
At roughly 4:30 a.m., officers received information that another suspect was still at the Chrysler dealership. Officers returned to the dealership and the fourth suspect was located and placed under arrest.
25-year-old Himanshu Yadav of Etobicoke was charged with:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (stolen licence plate)
- Possession of Master Key
- Possession of Break in Instruments
- Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
- Possession of Schedule I Substance – Heroin
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
All four suspects were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
