The Town of Milton has received its quarterly payment from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
Four times a year, the Town receives a payment from OLG for hosting Elements Casino Mohawk. Milton just received $2,536,285. This is the first of four payments over the fiscal year. Milton received $7,405,061 in the last fiscal year. Since the gaming site opened in August 1999, Milton has received $137,672,255.
These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
“Host communities support important community programs and services and strengthen their local infrastructure with these gaming revenues,” says Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance. “These financial supports help fund the vital programs and services that residents can depend on for their future.”
The Town of Milton uses part of the funding it receives from OLG for the Milton Community Fund Program.
Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
