As construction season continues, so does the work on local bridges and culverts.
The Town of Milton is getting ready for the 2023 bridge and culvert rehabilitation program. It’s a bi-annual program that addresses needs for the Town’s bridges and culverts to extend their service life.
There are four projects that will be focused on this summer:
- Structure 10 Canyon Road (approximately 100m North of Limestone Road)
- Structure 14 McNiven Road (approximately 20m north of Derry Road
- Structure 108 Chisholm Drive (approximately 1.0km west of Martin Street
- Pedestrian Bridges P06 and P07 (located in David Thompson Park)
Access to McNiven Road from Derry Road will be closed for the duration of this closure. Local access on McNiven will be maintained from the north via Conservation Road for southbound access only. The bridges at David Thompson Park will also be closed to facilitate the replacement. Local residents and businesses will receive notices if a closure directly impacts them.
What you can expect to be worked on:
- Concrete repairs to bridge components on the surface and underside
- Repairs and replacement of the existing asphalt, curb and sidewalk adjacent to the structures
- Replacement of existing parapet wall
- Replacement pedestrian bridges
The program officially begins on Monday, July 17th and will run until Saturday, September 30th.
All road closures can be found using the Town’s interactive road closure map.
