You’re never too old to win the lottery!
88-year-old Ronald Murrell of Burlington has an extra $100,000 in his pocket after winning the top prize with Instant Crossword Tripler.
Murrell says he and his daughter went out for coffee. On his way home, he stopped to get the tickets. “I purchased the last two tickets they had in stock,” Ronald explained, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque.
When he discovered he won big, Ronald checked his ticket five times to make sure it wasn’t a mistake. He called his daughter, “I have to show you something!” He surprised her with the win. Ronald shared the news with the rest of his family. “They were all so excited for me.”
The father of three plans to help his family and enjoy some horse racing with his winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Husky on Lakeshore Road in Burlington.
