The 2023 RCMP Musical Ride Cross Canada Tour is coming to the Milton area this September!
This year will be the RCMP’s 150th anniversary. For the second time, the Campbellville Community Association will host the RCMP Musical Ride. The last time was in 2017 for Canada’s 150th birthday as part of their cross-country tour.
In a release, the Musical Ride is described as a pretty important presentation for Canadians:
A symbol of tradition, honour, and pride, the Musical Ride is a Canadian icon recognized at home and abroad. The
Musical Ride supports front-line police operations by building positive relationships, supporting recruiting efforts and
promoting the RCMP’s image in communities in Canada and around the world.
There are 32 riders, all of whom are police officers. Their horses perform intricate formations and drills set to music. the performance is roughly 30-minutes long, with the movements requiring the utmost control, timing, and coordination.
The Campbellville Community Association will need volunteers leading up to the shows! The shows will be on Tuesday, September 19th and Thursday, September 21st. Updates can followed here.
