
Milton Public Library's Beaty branch (2021)
The Milton Public Library (MPL) is bringing back the Indigenous Garden at their Beaty branch.
To celebrate the reopening, the MPL is holding a day of activities on Saturday, May 6th with Grandmother’s Voice and Sustainable Milton:
- 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Garden Work Bee – Cleaning up and re-opening the Healing and Medicine Garden. Register here.
- 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Seed Library Prep – Packing, labelling, and categorizing seeds
- 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Mid Day Break – BYO Picnic lunch; light snacks provided
- 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Seedling Sale – Get ready to plant by picking up vegetable and flower plants grown by gardeners from around the community! Donate your extra seedlings or buy seedlings – Cash only
- 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Bokashi Composting Workshop – Learn all about making a fast-acting, nutrient dense fertilizer for your garden. There will be a make and take option for $15, register here.
You’re asked to dress for the weather, wear boots appropriate for work in the garden, and wear a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellant. You may also wish to bring your own chair to take breaks, as seating in the garden is limited.
You can find the MPL Beaty branch at 945 Fourth Line in Milton.
