The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) helped deal with a bomb threat at the University of Guelph on Monday morning.
Three buildings at the University of Guelph were evacuated as police investigated a bomb threat. Roughly 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 24th, the Guelph Police Service received information indicating there was an explosive device in one of the University buildings.
As a precaution, the Campus Safety Office evacuated three buildings and moved students to a safe area. An HRPS Canine unit trained in explosives detection attended the scene and cleared the building. No explosive device was found.
Staff and students were able to return to the affected buildings shortly after 2:00 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
