Two people are facing several possession charges after being arrested during a traffic stop in Halton Hills.
On Tuesday, April 18th, at roughly 1:40 a.m., the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) conducted a traffic stop on Main Street North in Georgetown. The officers quickly identified readily available cannabis and conducted a Cannabis Control Act search of the vehicle. During the search, officers located a loaded handgun with an extended 30 round magazine. Officers also located cocaine, MDMA and fentanyl in the vehicle.
Both the driver and the passenger of the vehicle were arrested.
24-year-old Kofi Jenkins of Kitchener has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device (extended magazine)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
- Possession for Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession for Purpose of Trafficking (MDMA)
- Possession for Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
23-year-old Camilus Charles of Shelburne has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device (extended magazine)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
- Possession for Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession for Purpose of Trafficking (MDMA)
- Possession for Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Fail to Comply with Court Order
Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
