
Calling all men – there’s a summit just for you.
The Women’s Centre of Halton is holding a Male Allies and Leaders’ Empowerment Summit. There will be several speakers and panelists discussing experiences in manhood, allyship, and accountability. Those include:
- Jeff Perera, Healthy Masculinities Speaker and Writer
- Kat Callaghan, Award-winning Radio Host (and that voice you always hear on TikTok)
- Scott Fox, Award-winning Radio Host
- James Watson-Gaze, Clinical Psychologist
- Tom Hockney, Staff Sergeant, Intimate Partner Violence Unit of Halton Regional Police Service
- Sheldon Pereira, Vice Provost, Student Experience and Enrolment Management at Sheridan College
Maria Arrieta is the office coordinator with the Women’s Centre of Halton. She talks about the importance of having male allies in the fight for equality.
Hosting the event will be Executive Director of the Women’s Centre of Halton, Kate Holmes, along with Manager of United Way Halton & Hamilton (and former Milton Councillor) Mike Cluett.
The summit will be on Saturday, May 6th at Ned Devine’s Irish Pub in their Emerald Room. It will run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
