UPDATE
The Halton Regional Police Service has made an arrest after investigating the robbery of a Georgetown bank.
On Monday, March 27th, at roughly 12:45 p.m., a male suspect entered the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) at 83 Main Street South in Georgetown. The suspect approached a teller and demanded cash. The suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapons were observed and no physical injuries were reported.
Through the course of the investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect. On Thursday, April 6th, the suspect was arrested in the area of Guelph Street and Mountainview Road in Georgetown.
29-year-old Jonathan Lane of Georgetown has been charged with:
- Robbery
- Disguise with Intent
Lane was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating a robbery that took place in Halton Hills on Monday afternoon.
The robbery was at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) at 83 Main Street South in Georgetown before 1:00 p.m.
In a tweet, the HRPS described the suspect as:
- Male
- Caucasian
- 40’s
- Blue/white scarf
- 6ft tall
Officers, K9 unit and investigators were actively investigating in the area on Monday.
