With heavy rainfall on Wednesday, Conservation Halton is reminding residents to stay away from waterways.
The current forecast projects up to 20mm of rain total as a system moves through our region.
Widespread flooding is not expected for Milton and the surrounding area, but the warning does say the current rainfall mixed with saturated ground conditions may cause higher than normal water levels and fast flowing water. Flooding of low-lying areas and natural floodplains may be expected.
Conservation Halton says it can be very dangerous:
“… all residents and children [should] keep a safe distance from all watercourses and structures such as bridges, culverts and dams.Elevated water levels, fast flowing water, and cold-water temperatures combined with slippery conditions along stream banks continue to make these locations extremely dangerous. Please alert children in your care of these imminent dangers.”

This Watershed Condition Statement will be in effect through Friday April 7th.
