A parade is being held this afternoon (mar20) in Essa Township to mark the anniversary of an 1958 explosion on Base Borden.
6 civilians and 1 airman were killed when a munitions depot exploded.
The depot was established in 1940 to supply various types of ammunition to the RCAF flying schools in both Ontario and Quebec.
Queen St. between Curtis St. and Cross St. will be closed for the Parade between 12:30pm and 2:30pm.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area during this time.
