Honda is recalling 50-thousand vehicles in Canada including some of its top-selling models due to a seatbelt problem.
The automaker says the front seat belts in certain vehicles may not latch properly…they indicate the problem lies with the channel for the seatbelt buckle.
Noting the surface coating can deteriorate and the release button can shrink against the channel at lower temperatures.
This increases friction and stops the buckle from latching.
No injuries have been reported due to the issue…Honda owners will be notified by mail, beginning next month..
The recall covers the 2017 through 2020 CR-V, the 2018 ad 2019 Accord, the 2018 through 2020 Odyssey and the 2019 Insight.
The recall also covers the 2019 and 2020 Acura R-D-X.
