We have ourselves a playoff series!
The Milton Menace went into the night of Friday, March 10th with a 1-0 series lead over the Pickering Panthers in the first round of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) playoffs.
Pickering’s Eli Pilosof opened the scoring seven minutes into the game. Menace star player Aidan Hughes then answered the goal, tying the game at the 11:45 mark. It was assisted by Jared Coccimiglio and Lucas Buzziol. The Panthers then took the lead five minutes later, and they carried the 2-1 score into the first intermission.
The second period was all Milton. Aidan Hughes scored first, with his powerplay goal coming at 1:24. It was assisted by Justin O’Donnell and Buzziol. Seven minutes later, Hughes scored the hattrick, adding another powerplay goal. Buzziol and captain Owen Forester got the assists. At the 10:17 mark, Buzziol scored a goal of his own, thanks to help from Hughes and Cole Semeniuk. Just before the second frame could end, Aidan Puley added a fifth Menace goal for the game, getting assists from Nicholas Wereha and Myles Perry. It was 5-2 Milton after 40-minutes.
The third period would be completely scoreless, ending the game at 5-2 and giving the Menace a 2-0 lead in the series.

Game three of the series was held on Sunday, March 12th at the Pickering Recreation Complex.
The game was all Pickering, as the Panthers netminder Reece Proulx stonewalled the Menace to a 4-0 win.
The game was 2-0 for most of the third period, before an Aron Jessli empty-net goal late in the frame made it a three goal game. Jessli then scored immediately after on the powerplay to fully bury the dagger in the Menace players’ collective chest.
