The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is using today to remind families of the role immunizations play in protecting children and youth from vaccine preventable diseases.
The health unit advises getting immunized according to the publicly funded immunization schedule for the province.
Until the end of March, nurses will be visiting Simcoe Muskoka secondary schools to offer catch-up clinics to students who have missed any required vaccines
They include, meningitis,measles, mumps and rubella, also known as the MMR vaccine as well as the Hepatitis B and HPV immunization.
Students can also receive any missed shots at local health unit offices.
