The latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police is now available.
There were nine cases across Halton over the long weekend. Three included Milton:
On Friday, February 17th, Halton Police officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Upper Middle Road and Appleby Line in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 37-year-old Burlington woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Friday, February 17th, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Plains Road West and Francis Street in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 35-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, February 18th, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Third Line and Rebecca Street in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 68-year-old Oakville woman was charged with operation while impaired.
On Saturday, February 18th, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 7 and Trafalgar Road in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, a 18-year-old Georgetown woman was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, February 18th, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Maple Avenue and Woodward Avenue in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 42-year-old Milton man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Sunday, February 19th, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Derry Road and Farmstead Drive in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 36-year-old Milton woman was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Sunday, February 19th, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Main Street North and Guelph Street in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, a 33-year-old Brampton resident was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Sunday, February 19th, Halton Police officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Harvester Road and Cumberland Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 27-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Monday, February 20th, Halton Police officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Appleby Line and Derry Road West in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 24-year-old Tiny man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
