A Georgetown man got some financial help after winning a LOTTO 6/49 prize!
Michael O’Brien won the second prize worth $69,176 in the December 17th LOTTO 6/49 draw.
The retiree says he plays the lottery twice a week and this is his first big win!
“I realized I forgot to check the winning numbers and when I checked my ticket I was in disbelief,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.
The grandfather validated his ticket at the store right away.
“The cashier was so happy for me. Everyone around me was wondering how much I won. The news didn’t sink in until a few days after,” Michael smiled.
He plans on taking more trips to Florida to visit his grandchildren and complete some home renovations.
“You always dream of the day your numbers will come up – and they finally did!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Moore Park Convenience on Main Street in Georgetown.
