We have the latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police.
There were seven cases across Halton last week:
On Monday, February 13th, Halton Regional Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sovereign Road and Headon Forest Road in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 48-year-old Burlington man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Monday, February 13th, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a collision in the area of Marjan Lane and Dryden Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 55-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Tuesday, February 14th, Halton Regional Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Dorval Drive and the QEW in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 29-year-old Oakville man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Tuesday, February 14th, Halton Regional Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Plains Road West and Spring Garden Road in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 35-year-old Hamilton man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Tuesday, February 14th, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Main Street East and Sinclair Boulevard in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 33-year-old Milton man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Thursday, February 16th, Halton Regional Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Fairview Street and Drury Lane in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 32-year-old Burlington man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Thursday, February 16th, Halton Regional Police Service officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Bronte Road and Derry Road in Milton. As a result of this initiative, a 33-year-old Milton man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
