The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested two suspects following a two-month long drug trafficking investigation.
Through the course of the investigation, a suspect was identified and observed conducting several drug transactions from his vehicle. On Wednesday, January 18th, investigators arrested the suspect at Pearson Airport after he arrived from out of country. A female associated to the suspect was also arrested as she was in possession of the suspect vehicle at the time.
A Criminal Code search warrant was executed at a residence on Plains Road in Burlington. As a result of the search warrant, the following items were seized:
- 345 grams of cocaine
- 5 firearms (legally owned but unlawfully stored)
- Various ammunition
- Currency
- Other items consistent with drug trafficking

A 27-year-old Burlington man and a 27-year-old Burlington woman have been charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Breach of Firearms Regulations (2 counts)
The man was held for bail. The woman was released on an Undertaking.
