The Town of New Tecumseth is advising residents that they do not send text messages regarding unpaid parking tickets.
Several residents have informed the town they have received such texts, that appear to have come from them.
These are phishing text messages and are a scam.
The town says if you have an unpaid parking ticket they will mail you a notice.
You are advised NOT to click on any links if you receive such a message and delete it.
