
The Halton Region has shifted to COVID-19 updates once a week. The update will NOT be issued on Thursday, December 29th. It will be updated on Thursday, January 5th.
The latest COVID-19 stats from the Halton Region show five additional deaths in the totals. Three of the deaths were attributed to Burlington, giving the city 179 total deaths. Another death was attributed to Oakville, giving the town 135 total deaths total. The fifth death was a Milton resident, giving our town 79 total deaths. Halton Hills remains at 72 deaths. Halton is now at 465 deaths total from COVID-19.
Across Halton, there are 224 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 56,953. There have been 1,659 total hospitalizations in Halton and 465 deaths.
In Milton, we had 46 new cases. That brings us to 14,764 total cases. There have been 374 total hospitalizations in Milton and 79 deaths.
There are currently three outbreaks reported in Milton:
- Milton District Hospital – Complex Transitional Care Unit
- Seasons Milton Retirement Home – Memory Care Unit
- Allendale Long Term Care Home – Bronte Home and Allen Home
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,522,098 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 1,357,750 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 5,832 total doses have been administered to people aged <5;
- 75,271 total doses have been administered to people aged 5-11;
- 111,693 total doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 113,829 total doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
- 73,443 total doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 86,929 total doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 102,470 total doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 110,670 total doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 117,227 total doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 120,814 total doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 118,579 total doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 111,272 total doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 99,379 total doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 93,126 total doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 75,130 total doses have been administered to people aged 75-79; and,
- 106,434 total doses have been administered to people aged 80+.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 469,404 total doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 36,723 total doses have been administered through other clinic settings;
- 1,015,613 total doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
