The latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police is now available.
It shows three cases across Halton last week:
On Tuesday, December 13th, Halton Regional Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Main Street and Ontario Street in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 31-year-old Hamilton man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Tuesday, December 13th, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Cedar Springs Road and Colling Road in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 23-year-old woman of no fixed address was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Tuesday, December 13th, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a collision in the area of Dundas Street and Neyagawa Boulevard in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 46-year-old Oakville woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
