
The Halton Region has shifted to COVID-19 updates once a week.
The latest COVID-19 stats from the Halton Region show four additional deaths in the totals. Three of the deaths were attributed to Oakville, giving the town 134 total deaths total. The other death was a Milton resident, giving our town 78 total deaths. Burlington remains at 176 deaths. Halton Hills remains at 72 deaths. Halton is now at 460 deaths total from COVID-19.
Across Halton, there are 221 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 56,729. There have been 1,642 total hospitalizations in Halton and 460 deaths.
In Milton, we had 44 new cases. That brings us to 14,718 total cases. There have been 370 total hospitalizations in Milton and 78 deaths.
There are currently two outbreaks reported in Milton:
- Milton District Hospital – Complex Transitional Care Unit
- Seasons Milton Retirement Home – Memory Care Unit
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,517,624 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 1,353,704 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 5,644 total doses have been administered to people aged <5;
- 75,088 total doses have been administered to people aged 5-11;
- 111,419 total doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 113,517 total doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
- 73,289 total doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 86,764 total doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 102,230 total doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 110,401 total doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 116,950 total doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 120,489 total doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 118,199 total doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 110,881 total doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 98,990 total doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 92,827 total doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 74,850 total doses have been administered to people aged 75-79; and,
- 106,086 total doses have been administered to people aged 80+.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 466,895 total doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 36,655 total doses have been administered through other clinic settings;
- 1,013,880 total doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
